Tai chi by the Pearl River by Jake Goetz

the war

by Mark Roberts

we meet for whiskey & buns

in the large dinning room

with the painted fireplace

outside the war goes on

we keep our masks at the door

the shelling is getting closer

a distant rumble has become a thump

thumpthumpthump

my typewriter jumps

as each shell hits

the paper

the escape route

is agreed

over the back fence

and down

the sewer
